Aune Hall (formerly the 4-H building)
Olmsted County Fairgrounds
Rochester Minnesota
In the fall of 1975, Michael Resman quit his job to become a full time woodcarver. He started teaching woodcarving classes and decided that a club was needed to increase knowledge of and interest in carving. On January 10, 1976, at 2:00 pm., the meeting was called to order by Resman. Over 60 people attended this first organizational meeting.
This was the start of the Rochester Woodcarvers 50 years ago.
As part of our 50th anniversary celebration, we are including a number of big and small enhancements to our regular annual show.
Among the additions are:
- Examples of different styles of carving
- Samples showing progression of carving steps
- Live carving demonstrations presented throughout the day.
If you wish to have a reminder about the show, you can print a copy of the Show Poster
