2024 Tree – Dala Ranch
Earlier this year our members responded to a club challenge to carve and decorate Dala horses. These have become the idea for our tree decorations for this year’s Festival of Trees. More information about the challenge, Dala horses and Tomte are over here.
Come visit a magical group of Sweden’s popular icon, Dala Horses. A Dala ranch is under the tree. Tomten (Swedish gnomes) take care of all the farm animals, but their favorite is the Dala horse. There are also some Dala style farm animals as well as a Dala zoo. Don’t miss the 12 legged Dalapede. The Zumbro Valley Woodturners along with several area wood carving clubs have helped out by contributing a number of decorations both on and under the tree.

This year our tree was not auctioned or raffled off. Instead, it was included in the “Running of the Trees” where Ted W. Smith Insurance Services managed to snag it. Here are some photos that they took with the tree in their office.
