Education
Here are some ways to learn woodcarving and related topics.
These are live, small group classes. For online classes check out our Related Links Page.
Club Sponsored Classes
In addition to having prize winning carvers speak at our monthly meetings, we periodically sponsor live classes. These have mainly invited club members. At the moment, we are joining with Chris Whillock’s Whittling Shack to have classes that are open to the public at his downtown Rochester location (see below).
Community Education Carving Classes
The Rochester Woodcarvers sponsors woodcarving classes through the Rochester Public Schools Community Education Adult Enrichment Department. Offerings vary and have included topics from beginning carving to specific projects and tool sharpening. See their paper or online catalog for current offerings or contact the Rochester Community Education Center. You can sign up for the classes by stopping by the Center, calling, mailing or on the internet.
