2019 Tree
For 2019 the club created three different trees that were the three prizes for a raffle. Three trees equaled three themes.
Two of the trees were 4 feet tall. The first was “Woodland Spirits“. White birch and other sticks were carved with various spirit faces. The tree was filled with woodland creatures and even had a raccoon atop the top.
The festive second tree was titled “Christmas Time“. It was bulging with a large variety of Christmas related ornaments. Some frosted cookies on the tree were so realistic that people needed to touch them to prove they were made of wood. Among the original ornaments were strings of wooden lights made of acorns and included replacements in a box of Rudolph’s Bright Bulbs. Underneath were beautifully wrapped presents and the top had a woven star.
The third tree was the most eye catching. A red pine log was “carved” using a chainsaw. Many colorful birds flocked around the tree including a barn owl nesting on the top. Grape vines climbed around and through the branches.
The raffle brought in $2,775 for Hiawatha Homes.
