Picnics

The Woodcarvers have multiple get togethers throughout the year. The June meeting has been a potluck picnic as a kickoff for the pause in monthly meeting during the summer months.

Picnics at Oxbow Park

Recent picnics have been at the Nature Center of Oxbow Park & Zollman Zoo. For directions to Oxbow park see below.

Previous Picnics

2021
The 2021 annual summer picnic was hosted by LaVerne Schettl at her house.
Photos taken by Wayne Hendrickson are in an on-line photo album.
A BIG thanks to LaVerne, Wayne and to all the club members who made it happen!

2022
This year’s picnic moved to the Nature Center at Oxbow Park. Steve “The Stickman” created a chainsaw carving of an owl that was donated to the park on behalf of the club.

2023
Oxbow Park again. Maybe this year’s donated carving was done by a real Pileated Woodpecker?

2024
A Kingfisher carving was added to Oxbow’s collection of chainsaw carvings from The Stickman.

2025
The 2025 picnic landed on an extremely hot day! Everyone was happy that we were indoors at the Oxbow Nature Center again. Steve created a skunk this time. They are thinking to name it Pepé.
